How it Rates

AnandTech Motherboard Rating

Rating (x/10)

Performance

The Iwill KV200-R performs well among all KT133 motherboards we reviewed.

5.5

Price

Although it has an ATA-100 RAID controller, the price of KV200-R is actually very acceptable.  It is much cheaper than the ABIT KT7-RAID, and about average when compared to the other KT133 motherboards.

5.5

Stability

The stability of KV200-R was below average, not as stable as what we would expect.

4.5

Quality

From the choice of the AMI ATA-100 RAID controller and the C-Media on-board hardware PCI sound controller, we can see that the KV200-R is a motherboard with fairly high quality components.

5.5

Features

The on-board ATA-100 RAID controller definitely proves to be attractive to those that are interested in cheap data redundancy or some added disk I/O performance.  The C-Media on-board sound also provides another advantage over the competition.  While the PhoenixNet support is an interesting feature, it’s nothing too exciting, nor is the prospect of a non-shared AMR slot.

6.0

Layout

The layout is fine in general.  The placement of the IDE connectors is fine, as well as the CPU socket.  However, the power supply connector might potentially cause the power cables to block proper airflow.

4.5

Availability

Iwill is one of the smallest motherboard manufacturers in Taiwan.  However, their motherboards are still decently available through online stores and local computer stores.  They are also used in some OEM machines, though you will probably not be able to find them in retail stores.

7.5

Documentation & Software Bundle

The manual is excellent.  It has everything you need about the motherboard, BIOS, and software.  The CD contains all the drivers and utilities you need for the motherboard and the C-Media onboard sound controller.
